swelling and i have pain when i am moving around or using the washroom. started new medication recently so have had lots of bowel movements as a side effect but noticed this spot. it has not crusted over but it does hurt. what could it be?
also i did get bloodwork done recently and urine test for sti tests, they never called me for anything. freaked out and in pain

how recently have you had the testing done? they usually wont test for herpes unless you let them know you are experiencing symptoms. i believe you should have this swabbed as herpes can look like this
the testing was done about two weeks ago. it was my physical so i said test for everything and anything as i do every year.
It do look like herpes yes
This looks like what mine started like I’m yet to be diagnosed officially but I have had more and more show up. It showed up about 2 days after having sex with my now ex partner of 10 years. Given how much it hurts to walk and that it’s spreading I’m certain it is. Mine doesn’t hurt to urinate though. I would get swabbed ASAP to be on the safe side they can only test for herpes if you have open sores is what I’ve been told.
how are they figuring out if you have it? i am sorry you are going through this. i am at the clinic now and will ask for any tests and get the doctors input and keep you all updated. this is weird. i did have protected sex with someone a month ago but there was a point where i had skin contact before but nothing went in. i didnt think you could get it from that and no oral was performed. this sucks!!! how do you all find it affects you every day? depressed or you just watch for the outbreaks and keep it private to yourself?
also why would my swelling be SO bad and notlot spots or anything else? no discharge,
smell or anything. i thought it was a hermorrhoids because of all the bowel movements from the new medication i was on. in the pics the glossy stuff is polysporin and an anti bacteria cream i started using to help the swell.
I literally just thought mine was thrush and the eczema flaring up as my skin was itchy then literally started out with two/three very small bumps or so I thought I didn’t look then a few days later they got worse and I went to the doctors who mentioned herpes so I finally looked and now there are quite a few and not scabbed over as I’m on my period and having to use pads which I’m sure isn’t helpful. I’m bathing 3 times a day with Epsom salt too. We never done oral so I can assume it will be hsv2 which sucks and I’m literally wasting away in depression but will be seeing doctors tomorrow. I hope they are able to help you I am still waiting for the results
thanks for sharing. so update: i came to the walk in clinic and he said its possible but he doesnt think it is and is more likeky a skin infection. since he was male he got me to do the swab myself so i hope i didnt mess it up. hes checking to see what sti tests and bloodwork i had done recently.
That’s great he doesn’t think it’s herpes. I would say make sure you swabbed as much as possible to get an accurate result. I don’t think herpes is routinely checked for in sti testing unless you have sores and from what I’ve been reading blood tests can be inaccurate if done too soon but I’m really hoping it’s good news! There’s not that much on this board from what I can see. Keep us updated x
