It does look like the sores I’ve had yes. Did they start off as little pimple-like bumps?

You would know if you had it - I see you first posted some months ago. I’ve known for just over 2 months and I’m just now having my second outbreak. The first outbreak was Painful. This one much less so. The little spots will burst and crust over, the whole process taking about 3 weeks. If you’re not sure, go and get them swabbed - they will get the results back quickly and you’ll know either way.
