Hi Kayla, I’m pretty sure it’s not herpes but you do have a large irritation. It looks like fungus to me but I’m not a health professional and it’s possible it can be another skin disorder like eczema, contact dermatitis or psoriasis. Since the area is quite large, I suggest you go to the doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. If it is fungus, a stronger pill can be more effective than OTC antifungal treatment. Avoid shaving until it resolves. Wear loose clothing and cotton underwear. Fungus loves when it’s moist.
