i have had a numb spot on my back for years, never bothered me much but recently the area has increased and I can feel it if that make sense, just very conscious of it. When I move it feels like a knot under my skin. I also get pain in my shoulder blade shoulder and neck area, pain down the outside of my leg to just below my knee and numbness on the outside of my feet along to the little toe. Finally went to doc who said it was damaged sensory nerve from old trauma in my spine. I have a bone problem and suspect the vertebrae have been collapsing a little. He did show me the diagrams and suggested physio which he has referred me for. Wasn't till I was out of the surgery I thought hang on. So am I right in thinking this isn't going to get better and the episodes of pain along with tingling weakness in my arms are here to stay and will it get any worse. I know I should go back and ask but would like to be a bit more gened up before that. Thanks
Hi Gillie,
Be very careful about going to physiotherapist they can do more damage than good, get your doc to refer you to a consultant neurologist as you definitely got something going on that needs a specialist to look at.

Thanks, think I will go back and see about a referral. I've had spine problems for a while but this is the first time nerve damage has been mentioned and I didn't get much chance to ask more or confirm all the other bits are related. Physios have been a help in the past but this time you're right it doesn't sound like a good idea. I have Osteo Genesis Imperfecta known as brittle bones disease so may be shouldn't have been a surprise that along with bones the nerves would get damaged. Thank you again
try and get neve test done too rule out everything
