Is this prostatitis or tumor/cancer?

Male 38 years old dealing with chronic prostatitis on and off for almost 4 years now. I mention this because the summer of last year I began to feel a tight almost muscle cramping in a spot that is slightly above my penis and 4 or 5 inches to the right. It’s always the same spot and the pin comes and goes. The pain does seem to be more frequent the day after sex and if I sit through I long. Based on the description and examination to check for hernias, my urologist told me it’s highly likely prostatitis pain. I have not had this pain the 3 or 4 other bouts of prostatitis but maybe it can vary?

My concern is that this is a tumor pinching a nerve or something else that could me more serious. I am not losing weight or sick during this almost 12 months of this intermittent pain but I have been so worried it’s triggering my anxiety. Does this indeed sound like my prostate or should I be looking for other symptoms? I’m so over years of prostatitis I almost want to give up....

Hi Brian, the kind gentlemen on this forum would be more in a position to help you out here. A trusted urologist would have the knowledge to advise you well. Go for second & third opinions. If it really is prostatitis, good to be able to catch it early. Don't give in to anxiety and be stressed.Good luck.

Hi Brian,    Have you had a PSA blood test ?   You are unlikely to have prostate cancer at your age but it makes sense to have annual PSA .    I suggest you see your GP about your symptoms and ask for an appointment to be arranged with a urologist.

No point worrying .  Action my friend !!!
