Is this really anxiety or something seriously wrong

So to keep it short I got diagnosed with anxiety 6 months ago I'm 29, more specifically health anxiety which I got after an extremely stressful time.

Recently I've had a noticeable drop in my memory and metal capability which has always been good. I have pressure headaches at the back of my head and shooting pains in the left side of my head, not massively painful out just last a few seconds. I also get split second feelings that my body moved, really weird sensation and hard to explain. On and off for the last week I've had a weird dizziness/lightheadedness I can still walk normally but I feel a bit drunk which feels like its connected to my head and eyes. I've had panic attacks nearly daily from this but they are only brief. All of this is making me extremely scared that i have some sort of problems with my head. I take no medication and dont really have the mental symptoms of anxiety over thinking and very few of the physical symptoms fast heart rate, feeling of heart attack etc Does this really sound like anxiety or something else going on?

I’m not an expert but all of this sounds very familiar to anxiety. I also suffer from anxiety and have done for the last 3 months. I get sore heads, pressure behind my eyes and ringing ears. I also get light headed sometimes.

I wouldn’t worry too much because worrying will just make it worse

I hope that helps

Thanks

Sounds Like anxiety to me. Ive been dizzy lightheaded get that feeling of movement all of a sudden. Its been going on for 4 years for after some extreme stress in my life. I never got help for it bc I wasnt financially able. I am going to see a psychiatrist in December. Just wanted you to know it sounds similar to me. And they cant find anything physically wrong with me…other than ive always been anxious.

Hi Sam,

I have had virtually exact same symptoms, some worse with chronic anxiety.

I had really bad health anxiety*

Recently I’ve had a noticeable drop in my memory and metal capability which has always been good.

I was the same, at one point I could hardly talk let alone remember things. *

I have pressure headaches at the back of my head and shooting pains in the left side of my head, not massively painful out just last a few seconds.

I had same, went for MRI brain scan, diagnosed as cluster headaches *

I also get split second feelings that my body moved, really weird sensation and hard to explain.
On and off for the last week I’ve had a weird dizziness/lightheadedness I can still walk normally but I feel a bit drunk which feels like its connected to my head and eyes.

Had similar, it’s called depersonalization, you feel like you are awake but in a dream *

I’ve had panic attacks nearly daily from this but they are only brief.

Same, my wife had to call ambulance a few times as the panic attacks were v bad. *

All of this is making me extremely scared that i have some sort of problems with my head.

Almost certainly Anxiety symptoms *

I take no medication and dont really have the mental symptoms of anxiety over thinking and very few of the physical symptoms fast heart rate, feeling of heart attack etc

IN MY UNPROFESSIONAL BUT EXPERIENCED OPINION
ANXIETY 100%

Hi,

Thank you for replying!
Really reassuring to read that you had similar experiences as mine.
It’s hard getting my head around that it’s all anxiety and that I dont have something massively wrong with me!

i get all this also at the min

sam it was nice to hear this from you. i think its anxiety but I am nervous for myself. I suffer from those same things plus my muscles feeling weak and spazzing a lot, pins and needles, pain feeling like shin splints and gassy pains. The head and neck pressure is the worse for me but I do use screens way too much. I AM ONLY 15 still and am freaking out that something might be wrong with my brain. Do you think its anxiety too?

Hi Sam,
Just noticed the fast heart rate feeling of heart attack comment of yours too . . .
Believe it or not I also had that symptom too.
Had 24 hour ambulatory ECG device to monitor heart rate which came back as slightly irregular at times but fine, also had a heart ultrasound which was perfect.
Anxiety is a real bi**h it’s physical effects are often worse than the psychological effects. . .

All the best for a speedy recovery

I didnt write it very well, what I was trying to say is that I dont get the symptoms everyone else seems to. I have no racing heart etc
