Is this really Anxiety?

Hi all, following on from my first post as mentioned I was given plenty of reassurance that what I have is Health Anxiety, I have since seen my GP again after changing me medication from citalipram & Propanolol to Atenolol & Amatriptyline, the first couple of days I felt really fine have to say I felt like my old self, the worries seemed to have gone, (bit graphic) my stools had gone back to normal, the acid feeling in my stomach had gone,I was able to convice myself there is nothing wrong with me, I'm fine as the gp's have said I don't have a type of cancer (which I was convinced I had) as I've had two blood test which came back clear of anything,

although over this weekend it has not been so nice been, could feel myself having a bad day on Saturday and then Sunday I was feeling all worried and anxious as I have been over the past couple of months, my stools have changed again, and what I'm hoping is nothing at all! When I blow my nose there is tiny speckles of blood, sure this is because I'm blowing my nose to hard, I have to admit I do feel I've got a sore nose due to this cold weather but I'm putting every little thing together and it again is setting off the worries and panic that there is something wrong with me, are my GP's wrong is this more than Anxiety

Bill, there is nothing wrong with you, just as your mind can convince you that you are ill you can convince your mind that you are not!

Keep a diary and go back over it when you feel bad, pinpoint the times when your anxiety starts and what triggers it. Is it a type of food you are eating?

Puit in it what makes you feel good an what makes you feel bad and try to see a pattern.

You can contact NHS IAPT for loads of support.

Bill……….I am so agreeing with the reply above. Your mind is doing its best to constantly convince you there is something wrong with you. After all that is all it has been over a period of time.

Medical support helped make you feel so much better for a short time but then that mind of yours has yet again convinced you that you are ill.

Teaching your mind to think differently is not easy and removing compulsive thoughts is really tough bit I know this can be done. If I could do it then so can you.

What percentage of time during your waking day do these thoughts take up. Are there free times or is it over whelmingly always there…….
