Is this set of symptoms familiar? Recommended possible remedies?

More than 4 days a week upon waking and having a BM sharp pain begins on vertical body centerline always same place...half way between navel and crotch. Using Tramadol, return to bed, lie on stomach and put pressure on abdomen. Pain subsides over several hours. BM begins as hard rocks and gradually becomes soft at the end. Cannot correlate onset with previous day's meals.

If you get this first thing in the morning it could be to do with acid in your stomach. My GP picked up on this very quickly and prescribed me omeprazole which are helping. Check this out with your GP

Sarah.

Thanks Sarah.   Hmmm... I'll check it out.

Sarah, it is my wife who is the IBS patient. I asked her about omeprazole, and she says she just fininshed a 14 day course of it about a week ago as prescribed by her GP.  She has seen a lessening of the pain as a result. We are going to report back to him this change.

Thanks!!

Great. Who you really need to thank is a new GP I saw.

I have a gallstone and am waiting to have my gallbladder removed.

So am on a Low Fat diet. I mentioned to GP that I seem to be worse with gallstones after I have eaten but also first thing in the morning on a empty stomach which I found confusing.

I only had to say it once he was right onto it. First thing in the morning is not to do with gallstones it is because you have acid in your stomach.

Hope this continues to improve. Keep in touch.

Sarah
