Some of your symptoms are typical of obese people , are you ? Then losing wheight would change everything
I suggest a full panel of blood tests and MRI too
Hello Susan, sorry you are feeling so unwell. Unfortunately, you have most of the symptoms that my husband is suffering and he has Parkinsons. It took around 3 years to get a diagnosis He has internal shaking, and external tremor in the hands some days , when I have to physically feed him. He finds it hard to grip things. He also has arthritis in his lower spine, which does not help. He has numbness in his leg on wakening , and all his toes have curled up (called Dystonia) which would stop him from walking, but unfortunately he is bedbound now.
He has neck and body pain most all of the time. I think you should definitely see a consultant neurologist, via your Doctor, as most people with Parkinsons will recognise some of your symptoms. Good Health.
Hi there
i agre you will need a referral to a neuro who specialises in movement disorders.
you will have an array of tests including an MRI brain scan and possible a DaT brain scan to rule out Parkinson's.
Remember Dystonia is a condition on its own and your symptoms may be dystonic as Dystonia symptoms mimic Parkinson's hence why you will have the same tests and dystonia is often treated with the same medications.
In Dystonia all the tests will be normal but results combined with a physical signs will be how the neuro diagnosis do dystonia is made. (I have dystonia diagnosed at 58 years).
Try not to worry and be proactive in getting the referral, once you know what your dealing with you can begin treatment.
alll the best, I'll await your update X
