Itch rash under the foreskin

Hi everyone. For the past 10 days I had a rash and itching on my penis under the foreskin. I is not constant it might disappear for a day then it comes back. I'm afraid I have herpes cause I did have sex with someone that I don't know 2 months ago. How does the outbreak of herpes look like? is the rash constant or does it comes on goes? Thank you for your help

I would like to ask if it could be caused by the chemicals since I started using new shower gel and I think it makes it worse

Yes irritation can cause this from a new soap or shower gel .
i would recommmend using only water for a few days and well pat dry to see if any results or changes happen .
