I have been using Clobetasol .05 for about six months applied twice a week. I notice the itch begins after application and continues. Not so bad I have to scratch but irritating. Does anyone else have this problem ?
It should work the other way aroun
Perhaps you are allergic to clobetasol. It happens. Ask your doc
Sorry, since Windows 10 I can only typer one sentence and then it stalls.
I know that would be logical. I just thought maybe the skin reaction (twinge of itch) was the feeling of the medication affecting the diseased skin. I want the medication to work so no more anatomical changes happen. I have slight changes (tightening) already.
I use a lesser potent steroid than clob if my LS is in remission and I still have the initial itch after I've applied it. It does settle down in the day tho.. maybe mention it to your gyne.. I also found clob ointment to be more harsh and itchy than the cream.. hope you get it sorted Mary - Jo
Usually, as soon as I apply the Clobe, the itching stops. If you are using the cream, need to gently rub in for 90 seconds. If using the ointment, just rub on for a few seconds.
I am finding lots of help from regular dilation. Also regular baking soda baths to keep all calm. And baking soda rinses after every bathroom visit. I also benefit from leaving sugar out of my diet, as well as gluten and most dairy products. Just to lighten the load. Stress is not always avoidable, but I keep trying. (Stress has a negative affect on LS)
Hanny, glad you have sorted your windows problem! It just wasn't the same here without your words of wisdom lately.... 🙂
and I so agree about the stress thing! Along with sugar, it's the worst, but hardest to control at times, of course.
Clob burned me for a long time, I was on and off it for months as doctors insisted I needed it. The lesser strengths didn't work. Finally I am on Clob now, but only a cream, not the ointment.
Good luck Mary.
Thank you for your kind words Lynne. All of a sudden I could write text in here again, though it's still a mistery what brought this on. Happy to be able to help and support people again.
Clob can have that 'sensation' on me too lately. I think it is because I need less and less.
I hope you keep well.
