My anus has been inflamed for a few days now. It's very itchy and I get this sort of sharp pain when I make a bowel movement. I saw a doctor about it, and I was told it is not herpes nor a hemmorhoid. She thinks it is either a minor fungal infection or anal strep (yeah I didn't know that was a thing either). I was prescribed a steroidal cream, and while it has relieved much of the itching the past two days, my anus is still just as inflamed. Granted, I've only been applying the cream for a couple days, but a second opinion would be very insightful. Is there any way I can post a picture of the inflammation?
Hi there. It sounds like you may have a little fissure - the sharp pain when passing a bowel movement. This can cause itching and takes a long time to heal. Try and drink loads of water and eat high fiber just to heal that properly.
Unfortunately the itching is like a plague. So many people suffer with it. I suffered for a year and am much better but not 100% yet. What helped me was an antifungal Cream and stopping sugar and gluten and taking garlic capsules (antimicrobial, antifungal, antibacterial) and probiotics.
The inflammation you’re having may be from scratching if you’re scratching it. There is loads of advice on here regarding ice and cortisone creams all which help but it’s really hard to find a cure.
Try a few things and hoping it clears for you quickly
Please try halobetasol and do not use baby wipes. The wipes may have an ingredient that causes itching. It may take up to 2 weeks to notice but for me after 20 + years of this, I am finally cured. Hope it helps.
