I'd like to know why my legs become itchy whenever I apply cream on them. it doesn't matter what kind of cream it is, I've tried different ingredients so I'm assuming it's not an allergy.
I usually apply regular moisturisers, and usually after taking a shower. My legs become extremely itchy for about 10 minutes and then calm down. Any reason why this happens?
Oh and just to add, I don't suffer from any medical condition except pain in my lower back, and I'm not on any kind of medication.
Hi Becky
i have the same problems with itching on my legs when I have used moisturisers but the only one that I can use is Aveeno moisturiser cream. I have problems with Bowen's disease on my legs and this is the only thing that clams them down. Hope this will help you as it has me.

When you were looking at ingredients, did you look at the ingredients in whatever you use in the shower?
I had to be patch tested years ago & discovered that I am allergic to formaldehyde & formaldehyde releasers. I had to change all the lotions & potions that I used, to eliminate those chemicals. I am now adept at reading labels & knowing what to buy & what not to buy! These include cleaning products as well as everything else, shampoos, bar soaps, creams etc..
I remember trying a pair of trousers on in a shop & itching almost immediately, formaldehyde is a preservative/antifungal & is used as 'dressing' in new clothes.
You could have developed an allergy to something.
