Its been 5 days since I had a hemrrhoidectomy and the pain s worse now than it was. It's the wound. I almost pass out. I can't tell if it's infected or it feels like someone got a glowing red hot poker a is holding in my butt. Day 5
I thought it would be getting better. What can I do for the pain. Even sitzbath water causes painh
I feel for you,, I’m on week 4 of recovery from the same. So I can tell you, it does eventually get better.. I’m still in discomfort pain n I get like chapped really bad from the drainage. You say hot poker, I say bowling ball wrapped with barb wire..
Pain management that worked for me was Oxycodone every 4 hours religiously, with 800mg ibuprophen for the swelling. The baths work great for me but do not.. n I say again do not use any Epsom salts or any of that jazz.. straight up warm bath water. I like it hot.. I’ve been doing the baths since day two and find relief in the tub.. especially after a bowel movement.. if u haven’t had a bowel movement yet then your in for a real treat.. I’m prior military n have had two gunshot wounds n they are the equivilent of stubbing a toe compared to the first few BMs.. I was in tears n still yell every time..
I used an ice pack the first few days too n that helped some.. n the doc prescribed me some lidocaine cream that was a life savor n I went thru two tubes of that the first couple weeks. Call your doc n tell them the pain management program your on sucks n need something stronger. I did n they jumped right on it cuz they know the pain involved.
Keep up with miralax n milk of mag when u decide it’s time to poop.. my first was involuntary in the tub n hurt like no other.. I also now stand on the toilet seat n squat over the toilet, that hurts the least out of anything.
It may feel infected and that was my first thoughts but my wasn’t.. just keep it clean as possible.. I use baby wipes to wipe with n I store them in the fridge, feels good.. (considering).. chin up ur about half way through hell week (n half) drink lots of water n don’t get impacted like I did.. I literally lost 4 pounds on my first n second bowel movement.. best of luck, any questions feel free as I’m not bashful..
