Hi fellow hippys it's vicki again with more questions for you post op people. I've been back to work on a phased return for two weeks tomorrow starting week 3. I'm not coping very well and this weekend has been agony, I've got more pain now than I had six weeks ago, which makes me think I've defiantly done to much, before returning to work I had cut my pain relief down to just before bed and if I woke early the following day, this week I'm back on 4 hourly pain relief and I'm still feeling terrible. I've made my mind up to discuss my review early and probably see if I can be referred back to occupational health. My questions are has this happened to anybody else on here? I'm coming up to 16 weeks post op. Im so upset that I can hardly move without stiffness pain and limping. I've also developed back ache also, which I didn't have before. I'm feeling extremely anxious and upset about this set back has anyone any thoughts
Feeling unhappy

HI Vicki, I had revision last your Oct 2013, I couldnt go back to work until 6 months @ 4hour shifts only at the end of my 4hour shift I could hardly walk to my car . I was reffered to nerve doctor they did test turns out I have sciatic nerve damage very painful. So im back on disabilty lost my job . IM not saying you have nerve damage but sometimes it takes longer to recover from hip surgery . Im now working with pain management doctor and physical therapy 3x week. I dont know what kind of work you do maybe you can work less hours
Take Care
Jackie

Think I've probably gone back to soon Georgina I work in the community and in and out of my car, my consultant advised to go back but I'm sure I've pulled something..... I'm going to see my manager tomorrow to see what they suggest can't work like this, I'll let you know how it goes thanks for your prompt reply 😃
Hi Jackie thanks for your prompt reply I think I may have strained or pulled something I work on the community in and out of my car so not sure if that's the problem will address with my manGer tomorrow and see what can be done xx
Hi Victoria, that does not sound good. I'd be tempted to try to get signed off for a couple of weeks just to get some rest. What did your phase return look like? Was it perhaps too much?
Jennifer, uk
I havnt even tried driving yet just getting in as a passenger is enough and my own car is quite low down so am leaving it till I have to x I did have a couple of blips, I slipped and jarred myself when it was icy and had an infection but I am hoping that in two three weeks I will hopefully be ok to go back fingers crossed
Hi Jennifer
It started by 3 hours a day for 4 days then last week 4 hours a day for 4 days and this week 5 hours, didn't realise how physical getting in and out of the car could be think it needs reviewing sharpish 😒
Sorry you're not well yet inside is swollen
