IV treatment for ear infection

Persistent middle ear infection, drained 3 times via suction procedure but still fills up with puss again within 15 minutes.

Also a perforated eardrum, ENT said the infection is behind the perforation.

I've had 5 different antibiotics, 3 targeted antibiotics after infection swab results. None have worked and it is not getting better at all. Still a lot of puss and swelling. The bug is Psudomonas but apparently a very resistant strain, likely got whilst I was in Kenya.

Next possible antibiotics are IV but ENT seem to defer the IV treatment... it was considered by my GP to be needed 12 days ago.

Is there a reason why IV treatment would be deferred?

I had all difficulties with my right ear and left ear and never had IVs.  I’m not an expert but sound to me you have  cholesteatoma and I’ve always though that Psudomonas was more around swimmers ears.  Hope it gets sorted.
