i have no pain in my hip but severe pain in my thigh on the top. This is stopping me from exercising and walking my district nurse has said if I still have it Thursday she will get in touch with the surgeon.
Anyone have any ideas what this could be please?
Hi, I had my OP in Nov 18 and I got severe pain in my thigh but also severe pain in my groin since mid Feb but they have not diagnosed what the problem is.
Are you having pain anywhere else?
I’ve had pain in my groin and thigh since my OP Oct 27th 2018 I’ve had a gilded aspiration to rule out infection. Now they are going to do a chortosone injection into the thigh bone on wed x
Hi…I have have had a knee and hip replacement it did no exercises for the first 6 weeks. Why? Simply because I saw no sense in hurting already bruised and painful tissue. I was also advised by another medical site not to exercise or go near a physio until 6 weeks when healing has begun. It’s your call, but I have had no problems with either and I’m back to most of my sports. All the best.
Hi - I had TRHR on 12/26, was in the hospital for 2 nights and went to in-patient rehab for 7 days. I would take it easy. If it hurts, don’t do it. Listen to your body. 5 days is very early and your body has gone through a traumatic surgery. It’s okay to let yourself rest and don’t overdo it. My recovery had been an emotional and physical roller coaster. I’m happy to say that is no longer the case.
Wishing you the best,
Georgette
I had really bad pain in my thigh. It seemed to be referred pain from the hip.
5 days is really early. im 10 months post left thr. i started having groin and hip pain just after the operation. ive been on painkillers ever since. ive come to the conclusion this will either go away on its own or some sort of discomfort or pain will be be with me the rest of my days. PHYSIO, surfeon and Gp are telling me i might be in the 5% of post thr patients who suffer ongoing pain issues. i pace my activities and take rest when my body tells me to. emotionally and physically it had been a roller coaster. now at nearly a year on im beginning to accept my accident and try to move on from it.
best wishes and look after yourself. you know best xxx
I have had something similar, started at 6 months post-op. I was advised to get a ‘muscle roller’ which helped a lot.
I was also told to do ‘split elevated squats’ which is not something I would suggest immediately post-op as you are, basically they stretch the hamstrings. Anyone trying it needs to do it properly, best to study ‘youtube’ videos first.
I was told to not concern about how far down I went, just go gradually and hold there for about 2-3 seconds and come back up. Go down only about 3-4 inches to start and gradually build up lowering over the weeks to come. Then switch to other side (leg). Make sure when you descend that your knee is not wavering out or in and that you keep shoulders down and back and belly button pulled in. Lower yourself by imagining the glute wanting to sit down (both glutes) rather than a straight on down.
