I am 62 years old male, and I have severe red itchy areas on my lower legs that flare up from time to time, and I am frequently given antibiotics or even put on an antibiotic drip for this. See attached photos.
No-one has been able to diagnose it. I have been told it may be coming from the bones, but I have had bone tests which came back clear.
I have high iron levels in my blood (haemachromatosis) and I used to get blood taken off every few weeks but not any more.
I have type 2 diabetes. I also have high blood pressure. I previously suffered from Guillain-Barre syndrome around 15 years ago.
No medical expert has yet been able to diagnose or cure this condition and it is having a very debilitating effect on my life. Please help!

Have you ever been referred to a Dermatologist? I know the waiting lists are very long. Are you under any Consultants at the moment?

It has actually been diagnosed as cellulitis, but I think there is something more to it, as it keeps flaring up every two months or so. Each time I am given a strong dose of intravenous penicillin antiobiotics to clear it, but it keeps coming back. How can I get rid of it for good?
I don't know how you get rid of it for good but I do know that the Dermatologists use Doxycycline a lot. I took it for 18 months, maybe yours needs a longer session & perhaps with a different antibiotic, such as Doxyxycline
Visited the doctor again today and he thinks it may be vasculitis.
Is the doctor going to do anything to treat it if it is vasculitis?
Just cream to help soothe it.
