Hello.  I was on Venlafaxine for 9 years, and have was on anti depressants for 30 years.  Have managed to9 do9 without for last 18 months.

What did the prescribing doctor say about taking the drugs together?  I have not heard of Lyrica.  Exactly was is it?  If you are scared, then please get assurances from the doctor about this.

I did well on Venlafaxine, got rid of my depression and anxiety.  I lost all emotions though.  We all react differently to anti depressants.  What suits one person may not suit another.  It is good that the diazepan worked for you, but I know doctors will not usually prescribe it for long periods now as difficult to wean off it.

You did really well to lose the weight, well done.  Glad you are feeling physically better.

Take care

hi anne lyrica is used for epelepsy pain and now also anxiety.i took one of the lyrica and omg i had an awful reaction came out in rash felt so so ill. called doctor and they said not to take anymore. so im back on the diazipam which was working well. i ve been on venaflaxine for over a decade and its been the last few months or so my anxeity has risen thats why they put me on diazipam only a very small dose of 2mg twice as needed a day. im hoping they will keep me on these. xx

i was in bed most of the day yesterday because of how ill and very spaced out luckly my parents were staying over so looked after the kids for me. they have also taken them for weekend to give me a bit of a break to feel better. i do feel 90% better today.just would like to talk to people who suffer as not everyone understands and expects you "to pull yourself together" wish it was as simple as that hey xxx

Oh Sarah I am sorry you had a bad reactiion to the Lyrica.  Unfortunately I too have had the same experience with various drugs.

I am glad to hear you have supportive parents and that they have taken your children for a couple of  days to give you time to recover.

If the diazipam is working well for you, then continue taking it, as anxiety takes so much out of us.  I do hope your doctor will continue to prescribe it.

I am glad you are feeling better today.  I have had depression for 30 years so I completely understand how depression affects us.  I am doing better now.  Yes would be nice if we could "pull ourselves together" but we learn to live with depression.  I have good and bad days.  18 months ago my doctor suggested I try without anti depressants.  Took me 10 months to withdraw from Venlafaxine so I did not get any withdrawal symptoms.  I am coping with supplements and not too bad.  I am an old lady now, so a break from anti depressants is probably a good idea for me.  I found Effexor/Venlafaxine worked well for me.

Take care and I am thinking of you.
