****I’ve had hip surgery going on 8 months ago I do my exercises I try to walk around I can walk with no assistance cuz like I’m going to fall I am scared of that it just feels like I’m not going to make it back from the hip surgery I got drop foot as well from hip surgery and of course nerve damage im a cook by trade and want to go back to work
you are still healing . this thr is major surgery and you have been thru a lot. in time you’ll be able to move more smoothly without a lot of caution. your at the 8 month mark depending on the previous damage to the joint before surgery you should be heading into moving a little more smoothly . 8-12 months after surgery is a good place generally most soft tissue and bone are better and coping has become easier.
i had nerve damage it took a year to get the feeling back in my foot and occasionally it still becomes numb. i used a cane until i felt secure to walk without the fear of falling. im sorry your going thru this. keep practacing walking take it one day at a tine.
ive been thru 3 thr and each hip replacement was different . its adjusting to a different type of normal as our mind and body adjusts to the new shinny hip components. you should be able to work soon . just start out cautiously. ask your surgeon for a appt for xray check if you need further follow up.
sending healing vibes your way.
My replacement hip surgery after I fell and broke the neck of the femur was 8 months ago. I can walk normally but still have pain on the outer side of my hip and cannot put a sock on or tie shoelaces. Can’t cut my toenails. I am seeing an osteopath and I also swim and walk. I have not seen any improvement in 4 months.
