I’ve had “reflux” for about 2 years, and not managing it

I’ve not had a written diagnosis, I have no heartburn, and I think I have “silent reflux.

I think it’s important to have a diagnosis.

I’ve had endoscopy, Barium swallow, PPIs and messed about with my diet. Minimal improvements.

I’d like to know if there is a “Centre of excellence.” And if there are any research programmes I can volunteer for?

Regards.

Hi Alan

I have got the same thing - silent reflux no heartburn but a lot of belching and feeling of fullness after eating only a tiny portion of food. I can take liquids OK but struggling with solids as the constant "lump in my throat" feeling (which is just basically a lot of air and reflux coming up) is making me feel like I will choke. Also my stomach hurts a little when I have anything that hard to digest. Been on nexium and other PPis and those seem to make me feel worse and don't help at all. I'm awaiting endoscopy to confirm diagnosis.

I'm a great believer in nature and natural remedies and it's benefits on health so I have tried acupuncture which had helped a little bit but not solved my problem. I did some research and went to Holland and Barrett  (the health shop) to buy :

Organic moringa green superleaf powder

Organic Clean greens blend powder

Organic spiraling powder/capsules

Silicon gel (colloidal silicic acid)

I have rammed all of it down my throat the same day and I swear to god my symptoms weren't half as bad within 4 hours! It wouldn't be a coincidence because I've been ill for weeks now  and tried everything else.  Worth a try   to see the full power of it all. It's all plant based goodness and can't do any harm so I intend to keep at it from now on.  I have only found out about the moringa tree today and I'm pleased I did. It helped my brother with a different condition too.

Hi, I’ve started following the diet in “dropping acid by dr Jamie Kaufman” and it’s early days, but I feel as though it has a good basis. Finding a way of cutting out obvious triggers, enjoying as “normal” a diet as possible and not needing PPIs. If It can rehabilitate my LES, so that it shuts properly (exercise and relaxation etc also) . Also got a foam wedge pillow, because my problem is 90% overnight

I’ll be happy as long as I feel I’m making progress.

I told my go I’ll be reporting back 3 monthly.
