it doesn't hurt and is soft, unless I'm erect i becomes hard. I've had this for 3 days and its always on my mind but my doctors is currently only effective on "serious" things. I've been told it could be a boil but i cant see a head ?

These kinds of thing appear quite regularly over the years for some males and they can be linked to personal hygiene and the amount of sweat gathering in the area making hygiene difficult to achieve.
It is an infection causing the bump - treat it with Liquid Antiseptic.
Place a dab of undiluted antiseptic on a fingertip and apply directly to the lump, it may really sting initially, then get easier with subsequent applications.
Apply 4 or 5 times daily - when the lump reduces in size apply 2 or 3 times - continue to apply at least once a day until the lump is completely healed
