IVve been taking Premique low dose for 2 weeks now

Ifeel worse since being in them, thought they were begining to take effect. but sweats & anxiety really bad ? Any one experienced this with Premique?sad

No, nothing like this.  I was originally on the high dose variant, and had to change to something else for the period after it went out of production.  That was very unpleasant, back to having night sweats.  I went onto Preimique low dose as soon as it became available again in February, and I'm back to normal.

It may depend on your age, whether or not this is your first HRT medication, and what symptoms you were having before which you're trying to address.  In any case, you probably need to allow more than two weeks to see if it's working for you, then go back to your GP for a chat.

Thanks. i was on Indivina, i had to come off them as was having a procedure. Results fine from this, was off of them 10 wks? Symptoms returned as before. Thing is this is a low dose slow release now. Thinking to low dose maybe ?

I'm assuming there's a reason why you're unable to go back onto Indivina?  Shame if it worked for you.

Premique low dose is the only Premique available now, but it's not a slow release medication, just a lower dose combination of the active ingredients.  There's always a period of adjustment while your body adjusts to the new levels of intervention from your medication, and HRT isn't a quick fix, it can take time to get the right one for you.

It say's modified release ? You have to stop takng HRT before you have a general anesthetic which i did.

I was allowed to continue taking Premique when I had surgeries, but mine was only spinal and shoulder surgery, the decision was made in conjunction with my consultants.

If your surgery is over, and there are no other reasons, why not go back on the HRT you were happy with before?

Yes Surgery all done, results all fine it's just the Dr goes on about cancer / strokes/ clots? being on them to long, I have had the check list on famlly all clear ? Just think the benefits out way the risks !

I was taking Premique 0.625/5mg until it went out of production. Started Femoston 3 weeks ago and just been back to GP as had constant headache since since taking them. GP advised to stop taking for couple of weeks and if headache goes then try different hrt. Is the lower dose Premique as effective?

I was put on the higher dose Premique originally as my then GP thought it had lower risks of cancer etc.  I do agree that the benefits outweigh the risks, life was miserable before I started taking Premique.  I hope you can give it a chance to see if it works for you, but if not talk to your GP about going back on the one that worked for you.

I've just googled and found the following advice on the NHS website:

"It may take a few weeks to feel the effects of treatment and there may be some side effects at first. Your GP will normally recommend trying treatment for three months to see if it helps. If it doesn't, they may suggest changing your dose or changing the type of HRT you're taking."

So don't give up just yet!

Same as me then Bella.  I was put on something different back in November last year, can't remember what it was called but it left me with night sweats and headaches again - I hated it.

I had a long discussion with my GP when I proved that Premique low dose was being made again, and I decided to give it a try, mainly because I'm much older now than when I started taking Premique and I thought it might be ok for me to take a lower dose HRT now.  I've nearly finished my first 3 month pack, and I'm back to normal, so it's working fine for me.

If what you're on now isn't working for you, it won't hurt to try, but see also the message I've just sent to Mars777 about advice I found for her on the NHS website.

Thank you zibby that's really helpful ... Going to ask GP for lower dose Premique. Will keep you posted 😊

Good luck Bella!

Thanks Zibby. Yes i have been given three months supply. I think your right . The HRT i was taking before does say it has a different oestrogen ? Maybe i was suited better to that one, i know they do a low dose as i was started on that @ first, after a year i was put on a slightly higher dose. Maybe i will go back to my GP to see if i can go back on Indivina lowest dose?

Hi Zibby, i went back to my Drs last Thurs, I have been put back on my usual Hrt tabs. I have been taking them for a week now, not sure how long before they get back into your system have you ?

Hi.

From what I've read, it can take up to three months for the full benefits of a particular HRT to be felt.  I don't see any reason why you won't get back to feeling as good as you used to on this one, but it may take a while.  When I finally got back onto Premique LD it was about 3-4 weeks before I was happy again.

Thanks Zibbyl, looking forward to feeling happy again, i will let you know how i go. Nice to talk to other ladies thnks x
