hi everyone
i have quite bad heart anxiety im convinced daily its going to stop or im going to have a heart attack, as you can imagine ive had lots of tests done all came back fine.
lately ive been experiancing jaw pain like a burning ache randomly throughout the day could this be anxiety or something else?
why have you convinced yourself that you’re going to have a heart attack when all your testing came back normal? Are you aware that stress and anxiety can cause symptoms that appear to be related to the heart? Thousands of people rush to the ER daily thinking they are going to have a heart attack and find out that their heart is perfectly fine. All the symptoms were anxiety related. Which by the way is not harmful. Anxiety causes a rush of adrenaline that can cause the heart to speed up or skip beats etc. eventually it wears off.
when you get scared of this it’s important to compare emotion-based reasoning versus fact or evidence-based reasoning .
emotion based reasoning is when you get a scary thought and then just tell yourself you’re going to have a heart attack because you are scared and may be having weird symptoms. but there are no facts to back that up.
Evidenced-based reasoning says that you have had the testing which turned out to be normal, you are young and your odds of having a heart attack are very slim. there are several reasons for jaw pain. there’s TMJ which relates to the temporomandibular joint , dental issues, teeth grinding, migraine, sinus issues. if it continues, let your dentist know so he or she can figure out what’s going on. you’re going to be OK! Take it easy
thank you jan, i appreciate you taking time to reply to me, i probably should have explained my dad died at 59 of a heart attack and his dad died at 53 of one so ive always jokingly said thats how and when ill die, lately (since july) ive been completely obssesed with and there is no telling or convincing me otherwise so any little symptom i.e chest ache or jaw ache or nausia i panic and it sends me into overdrive.
i should add my dad was 20 stone and smoked alot and ate alot of rubbish and never exercised.
i dont smoke never have, i eat healthy and i run half marathons and one full one.
when i feel good i can tell myself its all in my head but when i feel bad i start thinking what if the doctors got it wrong or missed something. this is all day everyday since last july i hope it goes one day.
