whats the safest way to readjust the time when I take my Propanalol 80mg?  After taking it for a long time now first thing in the morning, I recently forgot (first time ever) one and didn't realise until the following evening. I consequently took one as soon as I remembered but then ended up being stuck with taking them last thing in the evening which I didn't really want to do as I get tired and am worried I will forget again. The best time for me is first thing as I wake up. Is it safe for me to work it back to first thing and how should I go about it?

Hi, Jennifer,

I am only on 60 mg., but my doctor has me taking it morning, noon, and night.  So it can be taken during the day, but I don't have much experience with the drug. Can you call your local pharmacy and speak with someone there?

Thanks Anita...think I will do that. I only have to take one a day, so if I miss it, then it throws me out really...then I either have to miss a dose which is not easy or risk overlapping a dose which again is not good. Thanks for replying.

Hello Jeniffer, I am taking 80mg once a day and I swapped after four months from evening to morning (as I felt it has effects on my sleep and I thought taking it in the morning rather than before bed may help). I took one in the evening, then skipped the next day evening and took it in the morning. I didn't experience anything out of the ordinary.

Ok, that's interesting..maybe it's because I have been on them a long time that suddenly missing one was ok for a few hours, but then I started to feel very anxious and had palpitations on walking upstairs which is not normal for me. I wonder if with long term use, the body can get a bit too reliant on them. Anyway, it's made me wonder if it's safe to skip and readjust at all. Thanks for that

Hello, I take mine for migraines so it is probably different - I don't suddenly get migraine if I accidentaly forget one, but that may be because there may be nothing to trigger the migraine at that point. I usually never felt any difference if I skipped one.

It's interesting to see the various conditions this med treats.  All I can tell you is that for my anxiety, I don't think I could ever come off this med.  I'm sure my body will get used to it eventually.  But, to go back to that anxiety state would kill me.  I just find this drug amazing.
