Joint Injections

Hello, has anyone received injections to the joints for pain management/ a type of steroid.

Did the medicine cause weigh gain?

Did this make a difference with pain level or help with fatigue?

I can no longer take asprin, ibuprofen nor Tylenol. Primary doctor referred me to pain management specialist.

Hi Blue  I have had injections in both knees and hips for pain relief.  I honestly can say that I didn't notice any difference in my weight,  The pain relief worked in both areas, but only for a period of weeks.  However, I do feel it was worth it.  In addition I take Amitriptyline 10mg at bedtime and this helps with pain when I move in bed as it wakes me up.  Neither the injections nor the Amitriptyline help with fatigue.  I take hydroxichloroquine as I have Lupus which helps a little with fatigue, but it depends on your conditions. I found the Pain Management people at the clinic understanding and helpful so good luck

Hi Jean. Thank you for responding. I tak

Nortiptyline 10mg to help with sleep and with pain. The fatugue is the worse to cope with, its tuff.   I also have lupus; and some days hydroxichloroquine helps a little with fatigue then some days the fatigue whens and Im in bed all day. I hope you feel better soon
