Journey over

One month and three days...and I've been told my sertraline journey is over. I've had some irregular blood blood the last few weeks and my doctor is suggesting it's the med because it's the only new thing in my life. Withdrawal process has begun and I'm frustrated of course. Was starting to feel human. I wanted to thank all the kind words in this forum. I've come across wonderful people. I believe I'm jumping over to the effexor group next week. Be strong everyone....we can get thru it.

Hi Christinekay,

As soon as you begin the new medication, you will bounce back up.

You will feel good again.

Sleep is a very important aspect of depression. Back in the days before electric lights, our surroundings would begin to darken and our brain would send out the message for Melatonin to release in preparation for sleep. Lightd and all of the activity that swirls around us greatly interrupts this important process.

You can supplement Melatonin by taking no more than 3 mg each night two hours before bedtime. Greatly darken your bedroom and cool it down as well. Blankets are okay.

It may take a couple if days for your body to catch up...then you will sleep naturally.

Thank you very much for the kind words. I do have my relax schedule before bed and do take the melatonin like you mentioned. I am hoping for a quick bounce back later this week when I start new med....trying to stay positive but it wasn't my idea to stop the sertraline so that's where the frustration creeps in. Thanks again

Hi Christinekay,

Thinking of you...how are you doing?
