Not been on for a few weeks so thought I would see how everyone is doing and tell you how I have been doing.
After being on sertraline 50mg for 7 weeks I spoke with my doctor and decided to come off it, I just felt like shit and tired all the time. Already within a few days I feel better. Started CBT 2 weeks back and I have my 3rd session next week. I chose to do the group sessions as me and my doctor agreed that with anxiety you just have to jump in at the deep end sometimes and get through it. I felt much better knowing how easy it was talking in front of all the other people. I suppose it made it easier knowing everyone is in the same boat. Just staying positive helps.
If you don't have to be taking anything to feel great, then that is the way you want to be! Is Zoloft the only AD you tried? Do you think that it is best to stick to talking through issues and skipping the medication route?
Hi Judith, i know your question was for Phil but thought id just say that what's right for one person isn't always right for another.
I'm very pleased for Phil, that he has managed to come off the meds and therapy is helping him.
I on the other hand need both, I know I do so I wont even attempt therapy without my meds aswel.
I think coming off of meds is a personal choice on whether you think you can do it or not, and I've read many posts on here about people coming off their meds then not being able to cope and having to go back on them.
This isn't a question you should be asking others, this is something you need to work out for yourself.
