Just anxiety? Or should I be (more) worried?

hi everyone. I'm 30 YO male, diagnosed GAD and have a history of OCD and health anxiety. I've been taking 100mg sertraline and 80mg SR propranolol daily for 2 years. Its so easy to put everything down to my anxiety, but I've started getting weird physical symptoms that appeared pretty much over the course of a few days. I'm getting extreme fatigue every day from when i wake up until I go to bed. I can just about get myself to work and struggle through. My legs and arms feel like jelly, like they're full of adrenaline. Very shaky, trembly and feel like I'm clumsier, fumbling with objects and stumbling more. My mind is going straight towards everything like ALS, MS, neuropathy etc... I've just come round from a fortnight's worth of dire brainfog and this has taken over. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

hey Simon i mean it is most likely anxiety as millions of people suffer from these anxiety symptoms daily including myself. Its always a good idea to get checked out tho man as it will also give you peace of mind about it. I have health anxiety as well and I know if I dont get examined by a doc I will constantly/obsessively worry about it until I do. I’m sure in reality though its just our minds doing this to our bodies. Good luck to you man.

With your level general anxiety disorder, it’s does sound like its just that causing it. I’ve had health anxiety issues and at one point over about a year and a half went through a cycle of different symptoms including feeling tired, adrenaline rush in my arms, legs and chest, hot flashes, weak arm and leg feeling like they were dragging down with gravity, brain fog and pins and needles in my right face/head…to name some of the main.

CBT and a self book helped me manage most of these along with finally coming to terms with and accepting the diagnosis of anxiety.

When you had suffered with anxiety for a while and then start randomly getting new physical symptoms it can be hard to get your head around. But that’s what happened to me, panic attack watching tv and boom. Onslaught of new symptoms.

There is also a slim chance your medication has started reacting differently so could always consult your gp if in doubt

i also agree i suffer from GAD, OCD, and PTSD, i take zoloft as well and atenenol. i have had the same symptoms while stressed or having a lot of anxiety. If you think its really not normal theres nothing wrong with going to get checked out.
