just back from seeing the doctor

 well been to see a doctor who has worked in a and e and understands our pmr.

i have had all the bloods done Eileen asked about, and the doctor said all ok, and i have made an appoinment to have them done again in two weeks and will see after that. to discuss how i fee.

2. i have chronic utrica thats what all the problems with the swelling around my eyes and the itiching and the rash, she has given me something for it, so we can on;ly wait and see how that goes, but i feel better.

3. There is a 12 month waiting list for chapell allerton and she agreed it is the best hospital to go, so in the meantime she is going to moniter me and keep all the tests upto date.

4. I think my hubby was amazed at the doctor who said i really feel for you Margaret  this is a terrible illness, and no you are not panicking for nothing

a little understanding goes a long way. 

On our way home he said to me so now you know not to panic!!!!!, 

i do think he thinks his nose is out of joint, but time will tell i told him no more shouting at me and try and understand if i am restless or cannot sleep its my body doing all this to me.

she agrees about the reduction and has given me 1mg, white tablets, she also said reducing by 2.5 is not acceptable.

At last a doctor who understands.

thank you all for your support, and no matter what hubby says i will still keep on this forum for i am learning more and more.

Going hopefully to leeds to get the book on self help.

well done margaret.    lets hope you are  going to get sorted  with your  reduction

and   things will get easier for you..   fingers x   that goes for all of us.

     the day i am ride of this horrible  pmr   i will be  booking myself a cruise   just to sit and reflecked  on the  horrible journey i have been on

GOOD morning mararet stay strong&fight your corner.I had a call from Drs monday for bloods, ithought they are on the ball,But it was just for my yearly thyroid test,NO after a lot of 2ing frowing & telephone calls i have got my F/blood test next week.that is all down to info from the Girls on these Forums [tanks] I have been for a morning walk had my Toast.the sun is shining time to do a bit of pottering in my small garden All the Best to one & all.Dave.

Hi Margaret, so glad you got sorted out.  I am sure you are breathing a sigh of relief.  So glad that hubby got the message, maybe now he understands.  Yes you know now not to panic, but that's after seeing the dr.  Anyway delighted for you that you are getting sorted.  Keep us all up to date.  Take Care.    Pat

Good to know you have a doctor whe appears to know about PMR .Hopefully your rash and swelling will settle down after a few day treatment . Hope you find the book ,if not you can find her books on Amazons.Hope you get a good night tonight Carol

take one chronic illness, add a soupcon of knowledge, mix in some understanding, blend in a portion of time, combine with some certainty, apply some measured medication, and there's a good recipe for regaining some control of one's life.

It can only get better from here as you get used to "normal". Good work!

MANY thanks Dave, i am surpries ar myself for being so forceful, but after reading this forum we have to stick up for our selves as npo one else will.
