Just been diagnosed with Lichen Planus on both feet (not toes or soles)

My feet have had a 'crawling' sensation for months, but only recently started really itching (only at night) and rash has appeared.  Not able to sleep and feet are now swollen, has anybody else experienced this?

I have this in my arms and lower legs no how u feel it's like something under the skin. I cover myself in hydromol cream u can get from the doctor. I have tried lots different creams from the doctor doesn't seem to help at all. I take a doxpin tablet at night to help sleep and helps to sleep thro the night.hope this helps

Hi Carolann, thanks for the reply.  The problem I have is that I've been diagnosed with LP before, in other areas, back, arms, ankle, and it started differently than this time, it lasted for about 2 years, and I was left with purple scars, that have since gone.  So I'm not sure it is LP.  The rash is along the edge of my feet (not on the toes or sole) and it only starts 'playing up' when I go to bed, unbelievably itchy and I'm unable to sleep.  My present situation is I've been signed off from work for about 16 weeks with Anxiety, which I have now got a handle on, but I haven't been sleeping for so, so long and now this itching is driving me to despair. Is Doxpin a sleeping tablet, and do I have to ask my GP for a prescription? <3

Hi. Sorry it's spelt doxepin comes in 25 and 50 mg. I found 50mg too much had a job to wake up ! So was given the 25mg.

Dermatologist sent me for a scan as had very low iron reading he says that can cause LS. Was given iron pills that helped but it soon came back ! It's worse than its ever been. Doxpin is a mild antidepressant but also works well on LS enable to be able get a good night without scratching. Yes can only get on percription. I also bath and shower with the hydromol emollient that can be got on percription too it did help.

Thanks carolann, this will help I'm sure. Next time I speak to my GP will bring this up.  Many thanks for your help, will let you know how it goes.

Yes please let me no how u get on.
