Hi everyone I've just been diagnosed with PTSD disorder is they anyone out their that ha got any ADVICE PLEASE ??
There is a treatment called EMDR, look it up on the web...it is supposed to help. The concepts sound silly to me, but I have been looking for someone in my area to use this treatment on me.
Whoever diagnosed you should have given you options

Do you have insurance? I am on Klonipin ! mg 4x a day and Lexapro. If you are not on anything yet Valiriun Root, Camomile, Melitonine, passion flower all help calm the nerves they are herbs you can by on line or at a health food store. I personally like two of them one is called Calm Tabs and the other is passion flower. Hope this helps you as a long time suffer I understand the fear and phyical symptoms that go a long with it. Also try taking a deep breath hold for 4 counts exhale for 7 counts continue till you feel calmer. Wishing you peace of mind and well being.

Since I was a teenager but i finally went for help in my 30's I was so embarrased to admit it but finally feeling better became more important. I have been on meds around 7 years now and yes It has made a great deal of difference for me. I wish you the best I know how aweful this can be. I still have trouble around lots of people even with the medication but it is better.
oh man yes I have really bad moods and fear of going to sleep if I am not on meds. I really hope you get help soon. I have several physical illnesses as well and I tell you I have never struggled so hard as I have with PTSD it makes life so hard! My heart goes out to you! And everyone on here still suffering!
I tried EMDR. It was very strange indeed. I think it helped at the time, but now I gotta go back to the therapist. After not going for almost a year things are getting bottled up again.
