Just diagnosed with gallstones

Hi all, currently in hospital after a lot of pain and been told I have to have my gall bladder removed, on waiting list!

My dr at hospital has said to stick to low fat diet, avoid creamy stuff, oily stuff, no butter so my question is is there anything that I should avoid to stop flare ups til I have the op?

Thankyou

Hi there well I've tried everything to stop pain diet wise nothing works still get the pain and fullness after eating just had gallstone removed from bile duct ! Now seeing surgeon for removable and even then you have to watch what you eat ! I had a very good diet too so west ever they say about it's what you have eaten is rubbish .hope you get some relief soon 💐

Avoid foods the doctor told you to avoid basically.

Definitely no cheese (particularly hard cheese).

If you have roast meat take off the fat and have boiled veg rather than roasting the veg.

No fried food of any description.

No crisps.

Sorry if all this sounds very boring but you have asked a question and I am trying to answer it honestly as best I can.

Hope they operate on you soon.

I had gallbladder removed 3 years ago and waited about 4 months.

Take care and keep in touch

Sarah

Hi , I had my gallbladder removed 5 months ago and still

struggling to eat. Still getting bloating and feeling really sick

even after the smallest amount e.g. slice of toast and feel full .

Greasy , spicy , fat all need to be avoided .

Good luck.
