I was in a monogamous relationship that ended 3 years ago (he had a very promiscuous life prior)
I started a new relationship 8 mos ago
I am 48 female
Having first episode now
Could i have gotten from the 3 yr ago boy friend?

It's possible that the herpes virus live dormant in your blood sure. More than likely it was the latter boyfriend. I have had experience with win and with whom and it was immediate. Take a look at his private parts see if you got any dry scaly skin there or redness anywhere it may even look like the store that has healed. I had a girlfriend that had it on her spot on the inner part of her thigh.So it come in strange places that was something I haven't been able to shower yet but anyway first rule stay cool dry clean stress-free no party and definitely no sex for 7 days at least mostly 10 I would be careful careful. It hurts like nobody's business when you try to make love with this outbreak brings nothing but misery so don't try. No tight jeans no friction in the beginning women do normally get more outbreaks then they will towards the middle of their lives for so on. It felt like somebody pinched me on my privates. Followed by a continuous nagging itch . I wish in 113 degree weather traveling to Amarillo Texas. And the heat was really bad. There was some other situations involved with that but the heat had a lot to do with the transferring or the transmitting of my disease. I've never had cold sores on my mouth or otherwise. My sister has cold sores on her mouth and she also has it of the eye if you can believe that. So basically asking a terrible itch an overwhelming Bruce feeling at the site of where the outbreak was about to happen
Yes it sure can. But was mine I saw something and did not pay attention to it because I had no idea about the herpes simplex virus or anything associated with it I've had it so long I don't even know what the name of it is anymore

I have been having chronic mysterious vaginal infections. This has been an ongoing issue for many years. Alsways after sex I end up with bacterial infection that responds only to antibiotics. Recently very strange bacteria found Klebsiella e-coli. It was not diagnosed because the infections probably masked the symptoms. Most recently I was diagnosed with vulvodynia which is unexplained vulvular pain considered to be a type of fibromyalsia. Very bleak.
Tuesday I went to gyno with what I though was another infection and I pointed out a little bump at the top of the labia. It really seemed like nothing... but thought I shuld mention it. She broke it open and swabbed. No other bumps or blisters, and I dont think that one would have broken open if she hadnt opend it.
Lots of vulvar burning though. I took my first valtrex a couple of hours ago.

I kinda wonder if i didnt have an outbreak in the other relationship but it was masked by infection symproms
Hard to say if you never tested for it before, but a positive swab for HSV-2 is conclusive.
Given how minor this outbreak was, with just the one bump, it could well be a recurrent outbreak, so it's possible that you acquired GH from your previous partner. Did you notice swollen lymph nodes in your groin this time? That is more common with primary outbreaks.
You could do an IgG antibody test to see what your score is, but that doesn't always mean much. Alternatively, ask your ex and/or current partner to do the test.
As was said, it is possible that it was the bf of 3 years, but more than likely it was the more recent one. Its hard to say though

I'm sorry but this is the first time I have ever heard of antibodies being involved. Maybe you can share with someone has shared with you so I can better understand what they're trying to tell you
Very generally speaking, yes, but it's by no means an accurate way to gauge when, how long, etc. Some people also have low(er) levels after many years.
That's something I wasn't aware of because when I started having it it was back in 1980. Back then they bury you what the heck it was. & I always knew what to do so we can discuss it much unless I was telling them what helps me. But I never got feedback in regards to antibodies and stuff like that very interesting to know I appreciate that Thank You Felis

Wow girlfriend bless your heart if it wasn't one thing it was another right? I would be really concerned about all those infections after you have sex please use a condom for your safety her own good. It would be helpful that way I certainly won't come up with a bacterial infection unless the condom breaks. Personally it would make me question who I was sleeping with. But that might not B the same for you. After all you have had several infections. Did your doctor take a blood test? That will confirm it. Also she broke up with a blister and swabbed.it. I would almost be certain that would be herpes. I've never had a blister be anything but in my private parts. And thank her very much for creating some terrible symptoms you are probably having now pain slow healing and the chance to spread this among your own self and body. I hate it when they do that. I had had constipation one time and just straining to go to the bathroom had caused me to have a fissure which is a tear in my anus and a small bump which never festered. I have actually had herpes of my anus because of the fact that everything is so close together. I could never actually wipe with toilet paper that hurts.
