i have type 2 and suffer from nerve damage most days i cant get out of bed due to shacking both legs are cold but if someone else feels them i am told they are warm , i cant get in out of a bath keep forgetting things and spend most of my time in bed ii have gave a ex employer of mine keys to come in my house to see if im ok as i sometimes cant even get to my front door , anyways this is whats happened in a short time of 4 months [ but had the type 2 for at least 30 years and worked all the time ]know i cant i phoned pip to arrange a house visit but when i was on the phone the person looked up my notes to tell me that my illness was a minor illness how some one can tell how ill you are on a phone i have no idea i just want to know if anyone hear has the same problems and what should i not say to pip as i don't trust them i am asking to record this and will be able to give them a dvd on the day i use to make films ext and have the recording devices at home a friend is doing this for my peace of mind and to explain what im being asked ext i was told you cant recod these interviews but have found out you can it tells you on [understanding your personal independence payment [pip] assessment ] page 11 you must give 3 days notice ..has anyone taped there face to face if so can you tell me what happened , well thank you for taking the time to read this .
Hi their is a thread more or less the same as yours asking the same type of questions only theirs was regarding recording their PIP assessment, if I was an assessor I would not want someone videoning me, sound would be bad enough.

When you asked the question about recording your assessment previously, I advised you that you can record it with permission. I didn’t advise that you cant record it at all. What I said was that if you recorded it without permission then you risk being refused PIP. You say a DVD but you only record the voice on a CD / tape player. You can’t actually film it to make a dvd.
Recording your assessment is just for your benefit only and the copy you give in at the end is not sent to DWP. The assessment providers only keep the copy for a short time before its destroyed. It can be used at a Tribunal though. The assessment process is exactly the same when recording as it is when you don’t record.
No one can tell you what to say during your assessment because only you know how your condition affects you daily. There’s no set answer that will guarantee you an award. Remember that PIP isn’t awarded based on a diagnosis, it totally depends how your condition affects you daily.
You say the refused you a home assessment? Did you send in a letter from your GP staying the reasons why a home assessment is needed? A letter will be needed because of the evidence you sent isn’t enough then they won’t agree to the Home assessment without the lettter. Even then there’s no guarantee you will be given one. They have been known to refuse a Home assessment and offer a taxi to the assessment centre.
Did you send in evidence to support your claim? They very rarely contact anyone for this and the onus is on you to make sure it’s sent.

Just to verify recording an assessment must be on 2 identical CDs not DVDs, 2 totally different things.

The recording or video is for the benefit of the person claiming PIP not the assessor. If the assessor does not like it sorry but that is tough!
Indeed it is yes but the assessor has to agree to be recorded. Not everyone likes to be recorded and it’s not a case of tough if the assessor doesn’t like it. This is the reason you have to give notice prior to recording your assessment. Also recordings must be on CD so voice only and not video as stated.
Sarah I think you are in for a shock, if you think you or anyone else can just record audio or video of a PIP assessor without their consent your very wrong, as for it being tough if they don't like it then when they exit the room and return your files back to DWP it will be you that's going to find it tough because they I'm sure will take their time issuing you with a new appointment
