Just had first outbreak! Does Genital hsv1 recur?

Hi there-

last week i had my first outbreak. my boyfriend had a cold sore and i got genital herpes so assuming this is hsv1. i went to the doctor and got meds and all my symptoms are almost gone. i was hoping to hear from anyone that has been in a similar situation with genital hsv1. how many outbreaks do you have? does it recur? can it spread to my boyfriends genitals from me since i got it from his mouth?

yes it does recur although usually the more times it does the less severe it is each time

No With his history of cold sores, he will already have some immunity. You cant re-infect him at a different site.
