She told my husband and I that 60mg of cymbalta is equivalent to 300mg of effexor. She took me off effexor as I told everyone before. I am very sick. She acted surprised when I said I was on 300 effexor she said oh u were? Hello u have my records u took me off cold turkey. She said today oh o thought u were already tarring I said no that's why I came to you. My husband was not happy he dodnot like her and feeling was mutual. Carpel tunnel terrible. Been off effexor 4 months. She said my pain is not from that. Ugh anyone go through this ? Desperate to feel better

Do you know what Denise. These Doctors really don't seem to know much about the terrible effects of these drugs. It must have been infuriating for you and your husband. How on earth did she not realise what she had recommended.
With Cymbalta I read that swelling is a side effect. Probably many other side effects too. Just like most antidepressants.
With muscle pain as well, maybe it's exacerbated the carpal tunnel symptoms.
Did your Dr consider referring you to more of a specialist?

She pretended to not know I was on 300 mg of effexor and taking me off cold turkey. I just saw her a week ago. I originally thought it was the cymbalta but now realize after being on 300 mg for over 20 plus year and stopping abruptly has really screwed with my health. I could do do cross fit now can hardly walk up stairs. Carpel tunnel is more that excrutistong I'm typing with left hand said it could take 2 years to figure out what I have said cymbalta is not a side affect of muscle pain. Said I could get a second opinion. This is why I pay $320 for 40 minutes for my son sho is ADHD and mood disorder. The very good ones don't take most insurance if any. I may go to him which I cannot afford.
I am concerned she could kill someone. Her reviews only 2 are not good. Said she lied on reports. Which worries me. My counselor said she had written down I had psychotic episodes. She said you have never had that or heard voices. I said never. So my therapist erased it from my file. So I will be asking for my records and I won't leave until they are correct. My counselor could not believe she took me off effexor without tapering. This sucks

It sounds as though you have a good counsellor which is something. Could you change Doctor ... is there someone else at the practice you could go to instead?
Its horrid you can no longer do the exercise you want but I'm certain this will come back. Your body and brain is going through a process of which you have to try to manage. You've done amazing it seems so far to come off Effexor cold turkey. The cymbalta seems to have replaced it okay in a sense.
Are you wearing a splint at night for the carpel tunnel? That's what is initially advised before any further treatment.
Hi Sara, yes I'm wearing a splint the problem is I hurt all over my wrists are weak as well as ankles and terrible thigh pain as if I dod 2000 squats. Mentally I'm better physically I'm terrible. It hurts to drive my fingers cramp up. I'm still working and functioning
But something is wrong. I know my body.
I'd say your body is trying to repair after stopping your previous AD. Or you simply need more rest to allow yourself to recover.
I slept for 4 weeks straight. But I realise that would be impossible whilst working. X
