Hi,
I am totally new to Orlistat and this group but have been reading all your brilliant posts. Is there like an 'idiots guide' as my doctor just gave it to me with no real dietary advice at all.
I am on day one today and very hopeful that this will give me the boost I need to make all the hard work really worth it.
I would be grateful for any words of wisdom.
Thank you x
Hi and welcome to the forum Nikki :-)

Other than that, avoid going over the fat rules, or it wont be funny!

Hi Nikki,
Welcome to the world of Orilstat. if you stick to the rules of no more than 5g of fat per 100g you will be fine and the weight will drop off. remember to drink plenty of water.
how much have you to lose?
Nikki, you need to take a multi-vitamin pill of a night also!

Thank you so much for making me feel welcome and for the good advice.
Is it a multi-vit that I should take? Am hopeless at this kind of thing.
good on you welcome.great here.loads of good advice
Yes, I got mine from Holland & Barret when they were on offer.
Dont worry Nikki, you will soon get the hang of it with the help of
all the kind members in this forum :-)
In a months time you will have to do the "Celebratory" dance, after your weigh in. If you stick to it you, will be amazed at what it is possible to loose. Try and do a wee bit of exercise, if you are able to, even if its walking up and down stairs, it all counts!

I will go check them out tomorrow. I have a rowing machine being delivered tomorrow which I am looking forward to.
Have you lost a lot of weight on it?
Nikki x
Well I got down from 22 stone to 18 stone 2 on my own then asked the doctor as I was going to buy those alli pills and he said that he would give me stronger ones on prescription. I was well chuffed to save (as it's pretty expensive to buy myself).
I am looking to get back to about 9 stones (what I weighed before the steroids) but am happy to do it in a healthy way.
I had heart bypass surgery last year so I have to take it a little easy.
How about you, are you doing well with the orlistat?

Thanks Daisy,
I'm not sure what the fat rules are but I do know what the consequences can be ..... I read all about that bit. Thanks for the warning though
