Just some encouragement please

I am stressed out about the tapering . I think I should manage my emotions first before tapering. It is hard to manage once the tapering starts especially the pahic attacks will come back .

Hope you feel better soon !! Keep me posted

4 mg a day is very little compare to me. Am taking 15 mg a day ! Hope you will settle with the PA soon. You are not alone .

Thank you, the nausea has eased off somewhat thankfully, so I’m just praying the combo starts to have some effect now and I start to feel better. I appreciate you taking the time to talk to me; yes it’s a very low dose, and I think I need to try and keep it that way. I hope you feel well soon too.

I’m Sorry to hear it didn’t work for you; antidepressants can be so hit and miss. I’ve found Mirtazapine brilliant for insomnia and depression but dreadful for anxiety. I do worry about taking Mirtazapine, Citalopram AND Diazepam but needs must. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Chris

How come mirtazapine makes you more anxiety ? I had that before but it made me gained a lot of weight and I was eating like a cow .. nevertheless it was great for insomnia !

Hi magmag sorry you may have misunderstood. The Mirtazapine was brilliant for my depression but like you I ate for England and went up to 16 stone! Thankfully I’m back down to 14st now. I used to take Citalopram and never suffered from anxiety but I was taken off it and put on Mirtazapine to cure my insomnia which it does! But since coming off the Citalopram I’ve noticed that’s when my anxiety started to cause me problems. So I’ve had Citalopram added to the mix along with Diazepam to control the panic attacks.

I’m finally coming out on the fog of the side effects of the Citalopram but I still have an awfully dry mouth. Plus my anxiety when through the roof and my panic attacks increased initially. I had to get off a train on Monday because of it. I had a meltdown at work yesterday because I found out the therapy I need has a six month waiting list!!! So I’m now signed off work for two weeks to try and let the medication settle me down.

Hey Chris :

I had citalopam before for a few weeks for it was awful . I am now on diothipin for depression and diazapam for anxiety. I had miritzapine a few years ago and they were really good for sleeping just that I put on pounds with that . How are you getting on now ? How many mg of diazapam are you on ?

Hi magmag I’ve just seen the Doctor again. I’m still signed off work; hoping to go back 13/08/18. I’m now on 20mg Citalopram; 45mg Mirtazapine and 4mg Diazepam. I take the Citalopram in the morning, the Mirtazapine in the evening and the Diazepam when needed. I’m praying this combination works because I’m beginning to lose hope. I hope you are doing well

 Chris

Hey Chris ,

I pray that the new combination will work for you . How’s the attacks? Get any better ? I am seeing my psychiatrist on Monday then my clinical psychologist on Wednesday for CBT. I need to talk to the dr about my sleeping disturbance then I will taper off my diazepam slowly. I have read some many comments about tapering off diazepam on this forum and how US is restricting such prescription. Update me with your progress or PM me any time .

After been on Dothiepin for a few weeks, my mood has lifted and I am less panicky in the day time.

Let’s hope that we both will get better soon.

Thanks magmag; I hope you get the resolution you need too

In the UK they’re so reluctant to prescribe benzodiazepines you literally have to fight for them. But I understand why given their addictive but they’ve been the only thing that’s kept me from going insane. So I’m happy with a slow taper at the end if that is what it takes. Hope all goes well with your visits
