Just started citalopram please can someone advise??

I have been taking this drugs now for a few days and seriously I feel terrible. So many times throughout the day I get these weird adrenaline rushes and cold flashes through my body. I feel so scared when it happens thinking I am going to collapse into a seizure. My dosage is 20mg.

Is this drug safe? Can it give me seizures

no it wont.
you will feel wired for a while before it starts taking effect.

Thanks Darren. I feel so weird I cant explain and I am worried whether to drop my dosage as the side effects are strange as heck. Should I drop to 10mg? Is it safe drug?

It will get better just let it do its work. Takes at least 6 weeks for full effect but you should feel some good effect after 2 weeks I think. It wont make you have a seizure

I would start on 10mg, that’s what I have done day 10, still havein anxiety, and adrenalin rushes as soon as I wake up,

Hey Albert, Dont panic I am on my first day with it and scared too. Its been pretty awful for me but some people dont have any side effects at all. I feel pretty terrible with these constant feelings of panic anxiety rushes through my body. I however am going to persist with it because I have heard it takes time. I am wondering if it would be ok to drop to 10mg I may do that tomorrow

Yes it should be fine, I am menopausel, that’s why is worse for me , I am 10mg, that’s the proper dose to start with as I went to doctors yesterday, and told her I am still haveing anxiety, she would not higher my dose at all, I have to stay on 10mg for 6 weeks then higher it up if I don’t feel better x

i wouldnt bother. let your body get used to 20pmg. your probably going to get it increased at your med review anyway. push through it. it doesnt last forever.
dont worry its only side effects. ive just had my sertraline increased so il be having some side effect fun myself
