just wanted to share my story

so for the past few years now i have been struggling with anxiety/panic attacks or what the doctors describe as that. after moving back to the caribbean(where i was born) from america back in 2015 & getting back together with an ex i started to feel weird. one day i randomly fainted in my kitchen with absolutely no warnings i wasn’t feeling dizzy or anything & out of nowhere my body started to become numb & i felt my body falling. the last thing i remember is rushing to the fridge to get some koolaid & i woke up in my bed. ever since then i have been having palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pains, etc. been to doctors & they said everything’s ok. i took xanax .25mg for about a week or so & no kidding the feelings went away completely. then in August 2016, i was in my bed eating & i was thinking about something & all of a sudden i started feeling oozy, having the palpitations & shaking. i was scared so i went to the hospital. they just said i was dehydrated which wasn’t accurate because i actually drank water on the way there & i usually drink a ton of water. and from that day to present day (July 11th 2018) i have been having horrible headaches, dizziness, weakness, jello/limp muscles, pins & needles, cold hands/feet, horrible memory at times, shaking, sore muscles, fatigue, etc. not a single day in almost 2 years have i felt normal. some days are definitely better than others but honestly it gets harder & harder as the days go by. it has affected me so much i had to drop out of college & i am scared to get a job because of this. (i am 18 years old btw). several doctors, several tests & still just anxiety. & ik you’re thinking why don’t i just go back on the xanax but honestly i just really find it hard to believe that all of my symptoms are due to anxiety.

Hi...sorry about how you feel..almost identical to my symptoms....BTW..how's your blood pressure....

I’m sorry you’re going through this.  I’m 21 and got the same thing started around last year.  Ended up on a good anti anxiety medicine that reduced my physical symptoms for a long time.  I thought I was better and could come off them a few months ago.  But now I’m experiencing every painful symptom imaginable.  I’ve been to the ER about 7 times this past month and I’m back on my meds but it takes a while to kick in.  Hang in there.  I don’t feel anxious but anxiety can do many things to the body.

Have you tried to go back on the Xanax for a while?

Hi Matt,

I do hate the feeling of anxiety. What meds were you taking before?

Hi, I recently got the blood pressure checked and it was fine so I presume it is ?  I certainly don’t feel fine.

I asked my doc to put me on beta blocker and Zoloft. I hope I see some relief soon.

my blood pressure has never not been normal

Are you taking anything for that?

I'm so sorry you're feeling that way. My anxiety is pretty much the same, I get a lot of physical symptoms and pain and every time I get it checked out everything is fine. I'm totally the same when the doctors say that my symptoms are a cause of anxiety and stress because I feel like there's got to be more to it, but sometimes there really isn't, the mind is a powerful thing!

Do you find that there's anything that DOES help?

i think i’m just going to go back on the xanax or another prescription medicine
