Kegel exercise

I've been reading an article that says Kegel exercises can't help a prolapse and can even make it worse.  Has anyone had success with improving a grade 3 prolapse with Kegels?  Many thanks!

I have a large prolapse and I went to the urogyn and found out that my pelvic floor muscles are in spasm.  You are not supposed to do Kegels at all when your muscles are in spasm.  Maybe that's why it can make things worse in some people?

I would try to see a pelvic floor physical therapist if possible, or at least have it confirmed that your kegels are a good idea for you (muscles not in spasm etc.)

Oh thanks Dorry!  It's all very complicated, isn't it!  You think you're doing something good but then it's not so certain!

Chris... yes I have improved but very little improvement..for the amount of dedication..that's OK!...but right now I have a mild prolapsed Blatter..g 1..at times seems like g2...and a little start of inter rectal....so scary and nerving for anyone..

I've got three vaginal prolapses - a 1, a 2 and a 3 and also pretty sure there is the start of something rectal but from what I understand that isn't necessarily the rectum, but can be rectal mucosa rather than the entire wall.  I think the Ehlers Danlos thing (connective tissue problem) makes it all more vulnerable.  But it's good to hear you have some improvement - there's hope then:-)
