Keratosis Pilaris

So, I am now 100% convinced that I am estrogen dominant. I have heavy periods with clots, migraines with aura, wonky vision, PMS (anger and annoyance), sore/tender breasts, belly fat, swollen ankles, anxiety, aversion to smells (to the point of gagging), facial hair (yuck), and keratosis pilaris. I have been so ignorant to ALL the signs. Every day I seem to find a new estrogen dominance symptom that I have been dealing with for years...all while being blissfully unaware. Apparently, keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) can be a sign of excess estrogen. Who knew?!?! I know it sounds crazy to say during perimenopause, but I need to find a way to (naturally) lower my estrogen!

Hi Staci

Try taking DIIM. My wife took it for a while after I mistakenly thought she was estrogen dominant. It gave her symptoms of low(er) estrogen almost straight away - after I realised my mistake in that she was actually estrogen deficient rather than dominant, she stopped taking it. I’ve now started taking it because I read it gets rid of belly fat (I’m not in peri, yet - I just want to get rid of my gut!!) and it’s working.

Also - if you believe you’re estrogen dominant, I can recommend trying Serenity progesterone cream from Wellsprings. My wife tried this before the DIIM and whilst it proved to be another of my mistakes (poor woman - she needs a new wife!), it had the desired effect if one is estrogen dominant. Be cautious though - if you are in fact deficient in estrogen it can worsen symptoms.

Hope any of this helps. The supplement we have is from Amazon (UK) and is in a black bottle - guess I can’t post brand names here.

Also, thanks for making me Google “chicken skin”!!!

Good luck : )

Thank you so much! I have heard DIM mentioned numerous times. I like the idea that it is made from vegetables, so few side effects! Oh no, your poor wife! Can I ask why you thought she was estrogen dominant and the what made you realize she was actually deficient? And, your wife is lucky to have such a caring spouse!
