The ketogenic diet has been around for more than 100 years when it was developed for the treatment of severe epilepsy. Doctors at the time noticed that short-term starvation helped patients to control their seizures but this wasn't a safe or convenient option for everyone, particularly children.

I really wish you would provide more scientific research references. I’m not such who would recommend industrial seed oils on a Ketogenic diet.
I can provide 100’s of research papers showing the benefits of a low carb or Ketogenic diet. I would also like to see proof that it is nutritionally deficient. Any diet can be deficit, if not well formulated. It’s sad that the article makes it sound a bit odd and extreme. The article does not mention therapeutic or nutritional ketosis. It doesn’t say that it is a human’s natural state. It say say babies are born in ketosis and that children are happy to switch between sugar and fat burning.
