I had kidney stones removed by keyhole surgery at the beginning of December.
Don't want to sound as if I am moaning because I am certainly better than I was but still having a bit of pain in my right side towards the back (kidney area) and sometimes diarrhoea usually first thing in the morning. They gave me a 3 month follow up when they discharged me but no date for that yet. Shall I wait till my follow up or should l go back to GP now? It is very difficult to get a GP appointment, you have to go through the practice nurse who rings you and decides if you need to see a doctor or not, so probably would not be given an appointment anyway!!
Im in a similar position. I had my stone finally removed the week before Xmas and the God awful stent they left in out on Xmas Day. Since then Ive had a constant back ache..not a pain as such but I know its there all the time and its no better or no worse than it was initially. My follow up kidney scan isnt until april. I was hoping it would just ease up as the weeks progressed but it hasnt. I dont feel its bad enough to see the GP as I have no other symptoms but I dont really think after this long that its normal. Maybe with other symptoms I would have a chat with the GP..do they not have a phone surgery where one of them could call you??
Our GP surgery is basically disgraceful. You get much more sense from the local chemist, I would not have survived this last year without him (the chemist I mean!)
Wow I thought ours was bad but at least they contact you if you insist ..(and can get past the receptionist!!!) do you have the consultants number who operated? ...try phoning their secretary maybe? Dont know if that would be any easier but is another avenue possibly. I wish you luck anyhow sometimes its just an uphill struggle
