Thinking of buying Salter Nutri-Weight Scales, does anyone have these and if so are they any good?

I use Lloyds pharmacy nutri scales - I like them a lot and only £12.99. I would imagine any nutriscales would be good though.

Just used the new scales for the first time. All I can say is my estimations were way out. Cooking Turkey Florentine from the Slimming world book. 266 Kcals and 9.5g of fat and the baked potato has more calories than I thought but less fat so looking forward to tea and using the scales lots. A handful of grapes was less than I thought and nuts more so leaving them out so I can use them as and when. Only 8 inches square so not too big.

Are these jus ta brand or do these scales do something extra? I've never heard of nutriscales.

Hi, mine are Salter which I bought from Lakeland. They weigh as normal but give you all the nuturitional values for 999 foods and ingredients. You enter a code for each item and it tells you how much fat, salt, cholesterol, carbohydrate, fibre, protein and calories in each food. Mine were £45 but you can get some cheaper ones. Found them very good as it is suprising how much fat is in food you wouldn't think of. I can now work out my recipes and see what is good or bad. Worth the money.

I need new scales so these sound worth the extra. Do you find the information matches the Fat and Calorie Counter that MAP sent out?

Registered with MAP but have received nothing. Another question is do you count total fat or saturated fat?

total fat for counting but common sense says keep the unhealthy fat low in the mix Mandy

just remember to weigh EVERYTHING.

I have melon as part of my breakfast each morning and the amount by eye is the same but weighing it makes a few calories difference.

I also find I have memorised the numbers for some food I eat all the time. :shock:

Hi all, I am due to start my Orlistat tomorrow. Am a bit nervous but anxious to make a good go of it. I am reading all the past posts, searching for tips and advice. Thanks for them.

I noticed some of you mentioned you have registered with MAP, can I ask what that is?

We don't have Lloyd's pharmacy in Northern ireland that I am aware of so I went to their website and ordred the Nutriscales today...of course had to pay postage but so what these seem to be very good...will save me looking up my Collins Calorie Guide!! Thanks for the tip jondave and all.
