Knee Injury

Hi, I recently started running and injured my knee. I’m looking for a good compression knee sleeve to see if it will help me continue to workout. Has anyone here tried a compression knee sleeve by Grip Power Pads? It looks great online, but I just wanted some advice before I make a purchase. Thanks.

You're looking for a solution before you have a diagnosis.  Injured your knee?  How?  Is it a sprain or is something torn?  Personally, if a few days rest, ice and some ibuprophen hasn't had any effect, it's time to see an ortho because you have no idea what's wrong.  If this has been going on for a while, see a doc.

Personally I rather use a compression wrap that has the two metal grips you use at thw end of the wrap. you can wrap it around your knee at the level what you would want.tight or looser or in between. the other ones have only one set setting on them & generally are too tight & can't be adjusted at all.I get mine at 99 cent store 99 cents..can't beat that...

Jill you might want to find out what you did to your knee before you choose to try to control the pain with a compression sleeve. I injured both knees about 15 years ago, took too much ibuprofen and wore those sleeves on both knees for years. Maybe or maybe not they could have been fixed way back when. Eventually I couldn't walk anymore. Double knee replacement two years ago. Now I can walk again. Will never know if I could have avoided all this. Might want to see a knee specialist, even if it feels better you may have done some damage.

Hi Jill

To be truly safe, consult your physician before exercising the knee.

As to the Grip Power Pad knee sleeve...I prefer a neoprene knee sleeve specifically designed to accommodate the movement of the patella-knee cap.

Bought one which has bamboo yarn against the skin as there will always be some sweating and that material is naturally antibacterial (and soft).

Wanted to have max adjustability, so velcro straps both above and under the knee
