Knee problem

Ok here goes,

After injuring my knees when I was 13 so 20 years ago I have suffered with arthritis which I have controlled well.

In December just gone I was kneeling on the floor and moved my legs out to sit on my bum as I did my knees went and my life stopped from that day.

After seeing countless consultants all saying different, my tibia bones are dislocating, I have no muscles in my knee, they want to break top of tibia bone, I need a full ligament and muscle reconstruction oh they also said about my plica.

The last consultant I saw said he would operate etc so he did and shaved the plica. I am now 8 weeks post op and after being able to walk with no ish pain I am back in my splints and on 2 crutches my knee keeps giving way as if it's dislocating or pinching something all pain is inside of my knee. Also as of 3 days ago I can no longer straighten my knee with the pain, feels like someone has torn all my ligaments and that was me just getting up from a chair. I went back to hospital last night as my calf was rock solid so being treated for a blood clot and having a scan for this tomorrow. I am at my wits end no one seems to be listening to me and all that it is doing is stopping my life I have lost my job now, I can't even pick up my own son the pain is every second of every day I don't know where to go from this

Any help would be great

Hope it makes sense

Omg! You poor thing? Call your surgeon right NOW! After hours number and someone will get back to you right away. Tell them what has happened and they will probably want to see you. I hope you still have pain meds to get through it. Don't just sit there and suffer. Your surgeon needs to see you ASAP. Please please continue to get help. What has happened to you is unacceptable! My heart goes out to you. Prayers sent your way.

It's really hard as when I go and see my consultant his under dog comes in instead of him and just keeps saying pysio!! But I know there is something seriously wrong but I can't get anyone to listen, mean while it is destroying my life. This is the third consultant that I have seen already and it's the same thing over and over again I'm hearing! I still can't straighten my leg out as the pain is horrific if I do. All the injections they gave me for the suspected blood clot I have taken them all now just got my scan at 11 today to see if it is a clot or not.

Thank you for your reply, it's starting to get a way of life now.

You must be at your wits end! We KNOW our bodies and they refuse to listen. Something is wrong! Physio is not the answer. It could do more harm than good at this point. My primary doctor took me off physio and said no weight bearing on my leg until the pain and swelling subsided. I had torn my meniscus in June. Had surgery in July and just today started bearing weight on it. I ended up in the emergency room a couple times because the pain was unbearable. I can't imagine what you're going through. I hope you at least have pain meds to get you through this. What a nightmare! Hugs

I agree with renee38282 that Physio is not the answer.  i had to quit mine because they did more harm then good by overworking the joint.  You do have to listen to your body and not do anything that causes that kind of pain.  Pain meds take the edge off so you can go as far as uncomfortable, but never to the kind of pain you are describing.  You no doubt have a list of exercises, so do the ones you can do and not the ones you can't.

Well I'm fuming! And really at a lost, I have completely lost faith in the nhs!

I got told from my consultant yesterday that there is nothing more they can do!! He wouldn't listen to me or nothing. I'm honestly heart broken
