Hello, just Over a week ago I hurt my right knee where I thought it was going to go. I wasn't able to get my leg to straight and it still is not straight , I went to my doctor still not able to walk probably and a bend knee. I went for an X ray the same day In a cab as I would never have got there otherwise. I rang doctors this afternoon to see if results came back and they have, I have to go and see my doctor next Tuesday. ( Monday is a bank Hoilday ) could not sleep laying down because of the knee. I have had this happen before but was able to get over it in a day, not this time.
I fell over the puppy a week before this and fell on my head, and ended up at A&E, black and blue face and around my eyes.
Please reply If you have had knee problems like mine and what happened to you.
Thank you from. Catherine.
hi i hope the puppy is ok!!!! you seem to be having a bad time of it when you rang for your results did they give you any indication of the problem ? do you think you have arthritis ? as you dont say if your knees are troubling you all the time i myself started with cartillage problem torn cartilage and got it trimed away but in the end i had to have knee replacements i hope your news is not bad news in the meantime rest and ice your knee a very quiet weekend im afraid
It seems I did something to my left knee last saturday that has given me similliar symptoms you describe. I can walk with just a minimal pain but can't straighten leg fully. Very painful getting in out car or getting up from chair. I googled a knee diagnostic web site. They suggest waiting at least 3 weeks to see if it resolves before seeing a doctor. They suggest it could be a strain. I am hoping this is the case. You mention x-ray. This will only give a indication of arthritis. You would need MRI for definative diagnosis. Meniscal tear, ligament tear ect. Let me know what doc says. Good luck.
Try sleeping with a soft pillow under your sore knee. If you sleep on your side; put the pillow between your legs. Speak with your pharmacist about what painkillers to take (specially if you are already on medication). sitt on the edge of your bed with legs over the side and try to raise your foot, straightening your knee. Don't do too much right away, little and often. If you are determined, you will be able to do it. Lots of ice (I prefer heat as I'm a coward). If you had broken it, the doctor would have known and x-ray would have shown. If you have a local pool, go and float in it, it really will give you relief from the pain; albeit for a little while, but you should also be able to do little bit of exercise. Failing that, sit in a warm bath with mineral salts, sit back and relax, after a while try bending and straightening your knee in the water. Not to much, but hey you can have a bath as many times as you like.
