Knee

Spent three months new patient surgery everything was going good but if it's your therapy twice a week but yesterday she put 15 pound weight for me to pull all my surgical leg this morning it is sore and it feels like it's bruised I can barely move my knee

I wouldn’t be doing that, in my opinion far too soon, my Physio takes a gently gently approach and after two new knees going in the right direction, ups and downs, slow times , but time is the element.

good luck!!!

That's what I said and she told me to stop being a baby other people or three months she says can do 20 pound leg lifts

John it was my last day

Pounds? Sterling pounds??? Please use the metric system ( in brackets) if you like. Because ASIA and Europe does not understand Puonds, Stones, Bushels, Miles and Inches. Go MEtric - thin about yoyr children. Bangkok-Johnny from Thailand ( we use METRIC) Oh, yeah!

Gosh, i have 2kg weights which are good, but 15 pound weight must be around four times heavier! I wouldn't put that load on my leg even 7 months down the line! Surprising!

You neee to try a little restraint j68551 dont know if your m/f

This is a forum for people who have had major knee surgery and are seeking advice from people who have experienced the same and can give constructive help so my advice to you is to stay away if you haven't got any positive advice to give .

Hi Bosco

Please excuse the rant below. the best advice ican give is listen to your knee if it says rest then do so this op is a marathon not a sprint slowly slowly is the way forward.

Oh and by the way i would sack the therapist lol

Johnny.

Apart from the METRIC system, which the world needs ASAP. Here's my contribution. A 'not so successful' TKR operation in Sweden 2014 with a post operative infection - now chronic. Bending not even 90 degrees. Pain and stiffness in the mornings. Medication: Tramadol 25 mg. 50 mg  if a lot of walking, hopping downstrais (TKR people love escalators down) and standing during my 'outing'. Tramadol is addictive - but it helps. What  is there psychotherapy or maybe Chinese herbal medicine? Or a 'revision' as my orthopedic surgeon here in Bangkok where I live calls it. Removal of the infected implant, antbiotic 'spacer' three months and and new implant. At least a year convalescence - maybe longer. I am 68 still working as a automotive, lifestyle  journalist. I enjoy my work and I drive like the wind! Bangkok-Johnny aka TKR-Johnny still limping around.

Correection: What  is ELSE is there? Psychotherapy or maybe Chinese herbal medicine? However, I am still better than I was before my TKR operation. Oh, yes!
